One of the very first travel books mentioning “Macedonia” in its title. According to Atabey: “the rarest of all Lucas travels”. Paul Lucas (1664-1737) was a French merchant and antiquarian to the King who travelled extensively in the Levant. This is Lucas’s second voyage (1705-1708) containing the description of Greece, the Archipelago, Asia Minor and Northern Africa. Lucas was a pioneer traveler that aproached the interior of Greece, Macedonia and also Anatolia reaching Kappadokia. His descriptions are very accurate, full with details about the local people and societies. Contemporary full leather, rubbed, cracks on spine, ionterior clean and very fine.
