Calepino was an Augustinian monk and lexicographer that devoted some thirty years to composing his dictionary, which focused on classical Latin usage and on encyclopedic information and literary examples from ancient culture. This dictionary was widely recognized & still active in the early twentieth century. Full calf with raised bands and decorations in gilt on spine.
