Spratt with Forbes and Daniel travelled in Lycia to continue the work of Beaufort and Fellows. The result was the first comprehensive archaeological and geological account of this area. They have identified 18 ancient cities and described in high details the contemporary Ottoman Lycia (including adjacent Rhodes and Kastelorizo).
