Rottiers Bernard Eugene, "Itineraire de Tiflis a Constantinople", Bruxelles Frechet, 1829. First edition, first issue, another issue appeared later the same year (Tarlier). In 8vo, 21x14cm. Contemporary bidding, foxing throughout, but a copy with manuscript dedication, from the author, to the Baronne dHogguer. Rottiers (1771-1857) was a Dutch officer who served in the Russian army. In 1826 was the very first who travelled by land, through unbeaten tracks, all the Pontic coast from Batoum to Constantinople. His travel account is extremely precious as he gives valuable information for all the settlements and itineraries of the coast, as the previous travelers used mostly the sea. Atabey 1058, Blackmer 1451.
