Complete with the 13 double-page copper engraved maps of ancient Geography by DAnville (11 maps, including maps of Greece, Asia Minor and Eastern Mediterranean) and 2 by Delisle (maps of North and Southern Greece), printed using newly engraved copper plates by Laurie. Contemporary leather over boards, rubbed, spine defect with some loss of leather, one map (Orbis Romani) creased, otherwise a fine and clean set of the most impressive work of Ancient Geography. The double-page maps (Dim: from 52x49cm to 75x55cm each) are considered as among the best examples of copper engraved mapping.
