Unpaid doublerate cover from Triest 2.12.1861 to Syros 1.12 taxed with 140 lepta (the correct conversion rate for 1 Kreuzer was 2,75786 lepta). Tax 6kr. for Triest and 30Kr. for seatransport (Austrian Lloyd) to Greece = 36 Kreuzer x 2,75786=99,28l. + 40l. local = 140l. Nearly all letters had a conversion-rate 1:3 - the double rate converted to 150 lepta the difference of 10 lepta was in favour of the Greek post. All stamps on this cover are Paris print, 5 of the 7 values of the 1st issue are shown. A very fine and absolutely unique postal history document of the greatest importance. Certificate Holcombe.
