Felix de Beaujour (1765-1836) was a French diplomat, served as Consul in Thessaloniki and later, since 1816, as Consul in Smyrna. In the late 1820s he was appointed as inspector general of French establishments throughout the Levant and received many accounts from the individual consulates. Using this precious material and enhancing it with his own observations from his own travels, he published the current account. It is a detailed presentation of the European Ottoman Empire areas and Asia Minor providing precious information along the Ottoman lands and its people at the beginning of the 19th. His detailed description of Ottoman Macedonia based on his personal notes, can be considered as one of the most thorough and accurate. Still a reference. VERY RARE. Atabey 83, not in Weber or Blackmer.
