Dutemple was a French diplomatic agent in Anatolia, based in Bursa (Proussa). He travelled extensively in Bythinia and visited the whole peninsula. He describes in details the multinational society of his days, focusing on the commercial and economic opportunities of the country. His descriptions are vivid, full of precious information. Rare.
