Ρόδος / Rhodes / Rodi, Collection of 30 large format (24x18cm) silver printed photographs of Rhodes during the Italian Occupation c.1936. Most of the photographs are the prototypes for the cart-postal Series under title "Cartoline di Rodi / Monumenti Cavallereschi di Architettura Civile", and depict the Rhodes monuments and architecture along local people. These views of Rhodes, became very popular, and were funded / supported for propagandistic reasons by Cesare Maria De Vecchi, Governor of the Italian Islands of the Aegean. Very rare collection.
