LA QUOTIDIENNE, 29/2/1824, FOLIO, 36x24cm, 4pp. complete, very good condition.

The Pasha of Vidin has been appointed as General Chief of the Ottoman army for Morea. He has to gather 80.000 men as soon as possible in Larissa. The Ottoman state has put much efforts for this campaign, and more than 40 envoys have been sent in several provinces for recruitment of men and gathering of provisions. In the same time orders have been given to construct new war ships. But a new arson of Constantinople’s shipyard occurred and a part of Constantinople was on danger. The Greek fleet controls the Aegean and Greek war ships appeared several times even in front of the castles in Dardanelles. 10 war ships have been sent to Dardanelles because there was a fear that a Greek fleet could penetrate the Dardanelles and even reach Constantinople. Several Greek families from Constantinople that had several members in exile received the Sultan’s forgiveness. Several other news from the Levant.
