LA QUOTIDIENNE, 28/10/1825, FOLIO, 36x24cm, 4p. complete, very good condition. Exact copy of the report prepared by the Greek captain Kanaris for the Greek governmen, describing his expedition against the Ottoman fleets in Alexandria of Egypt. Kanaris describes in details how the 6 Greek ships had left Ydra, approached the port of Alexandria and how the operation finally failed. The report was signed by Kanaris in Nafplio on the 5th of September 1825. A very precious piece of the Greek history. Other news from Greece including Ibrahim’s operation in Morea and the events after the battle at Milli. The Greek government seems ready to evacuate Nafplio and move to Salamina or Aigina. If the Greek government leave from Nafplio, it seems probable that all the peninsula will be conquered by Ibrahim. British had mediated for the exchange of prisoners (Giatrakos and the son of Petrobey for Turkish Pashas). The rebellion in Crete is reaching its end. The Sfakiotes refused any further implications and 600 Greeks from Nafplio had been sent to Grambousa in an effort to revitalize the revolution in Crete. Further detailed description of the situation in Crete and several Aegean islands as well as description of act of piracy.
