LA QUOTIDIENNE, 27/11/1825, FOLIO, 36x24cm, 4p. complete, very good condition.

According to the most recent news from Mesolongi there are no important news from the town siege. The Turks are prepared to continue the siege during winter, but they desperately need the Ottoman fleet to cut off the city’s supply from the sea. 1000 more Albanians arrived in front of Mesolongi from Preveza and 3000 more from Salona. Turks constructed a wooden bridge over Acheloos river to secure their supplies. New Egyptian army arrived near Monemvasia. There are rumors that general Kolokotronis had been replaced by the famous general Nikitas as chief of the Greek forces in Morea. Several foreigners (named) continue to arrive in Morea to fight along the Greeks, (some Americans reported among them). Several are coming from the London Greek Comity. The Greeks do not trust the French philhellene officers and they had kindly asked them to leave from Nafplio. Many Morea inhabitants leave for the Ionian and the Aegean islands. The Greek fleet under Miaoulis and Sachtouris tried to block the supply of the Egyptian army. Several other news.
