Heinrich Bunting (1545-1606), an educated priest, travelled in the Levant. The Itinerarium Sacrae Scripturae has been first published in 1581 and remained popular. The book provides the most complete summary of Biblical Geography and describes the Holy Land by following the travels of various notorious people. It has been completed, throughout the centuries. This 18th century edition is richly illustrated with fine copper engraved contemporary views and maps, not available in the previous editions.
