First edition, in 8vo, 20x13cm. Complete, pp. [15], 408. Contemporary full blind-stamped leather rubbed, browning inside. A good copy. Grigorios Palaiologos studied in France and it seems that he wrote the work directly in French. There is no contemporary Greek text. But as a person from the Levant, he provided a very accurate image of Turkish social habits, customs, ideas and of their mainly agricultural society. The work takes the form of dialogues and is complemented by explanatory notes.
