Fermin Caballero y Morgaez (1800-1876) was a Spanish journalist, geographer and later liberal politician. In his youth he travelled to Greece in 1824, after the crash of the Spanish revolution, to fight for the Greek independence. The book had been privately issued in 1826 and this second edition had an addition of 71 pages. He provides a very detailed description of the Ottoman Empire in Europe during the Greek revolution, full with historical and especially geographical notes, as Spanish people were not well informed about the Greek areas in Europe. Island by island, city by city, the whole Greece of early 19th century is described in great details. EXTREMELY RARE.
