Wilhelm Engel (1812-1875) stayed in Cyprus in the late 1830s, but he did also extensive scientific researches along the island’s history. The work is an exhaustive account of everything regarding the early 19th century Cyprus. History, geography, the language, up to the religions in the island, population etc. It is counted as the first systematic account of description of the island. EXTREMELY RARE.
