Ollier (1827-1886) was a British journalist who followed the war in the Levant. He had visited Cyprus, just after the arrival of the British in the island. First volume covers the war, from the events in Bosnia up to the treaty of San Stefano. Second part covers different subjects of the Ottoman Levant. A volume of contemporary illustrated news for the Levant. There is a whole lengthy chapter (around 50 pages) on Cyprus, with fine views of early British rule, and an other chapter for Macedonia, its condition, population etc. Scarce
