Lenormant F., “Turcs et Montenegrins”, Paris, 1866. First and only edition. In 8vo, 18x12cm. Contemporary leather over boards. Leather of spine missing and spine scotched, book tide, inside fine and clean. Old inscriptions and stamp of Ottoman library on title. Complete [88] 423p. Overall very good. Francois Lenormant (1837-1883), a French archaeologist, travelled in Greece three times in the early 1860s and several times after, in other countries of the Levant. He stayed also one year in Montenegro, in 1864. Impressed by the beauty of the country and its people, he wrote this book of his travel experience in this corner of the western Balkans. RARE.
