Geufraey (c.1500-1556) was French Knight in Rhodes.After the fall of the island travelled a lot in the Levant.His travel account and the detailed description of the Ottoman Empire impressed 16th century Europe.He emphasizes in the state of the Ottoman system:its structure and inner workings,its grandeur and its strengths and weaknesses .Although he does not always view the Ottomans with favor ,his statements are mostly very accurate.He provides a detailed picture of the Ottoman Levant in the middle of 16th century.This work includes also a very early account of Breydenbach on the Armenians and Georgians and Bessarion long exhortation against the Turks. Second work is a contemporary very detailed account on CYPRUS and its capture by the Turks .Pietro Bizari (1525-1586) was an Italian historian,traveler and spy.He provides a fine detailed account for the island and all the events of the war on Cyprus.Blackmer praised a lot this book and claimed that it is the most comprehensive and detailed account on Cyprus printed in the 16th century. The third work deals with the events in the Balkans from 1564 to 1573. An extremely rare set.
