Adélaïde-Gillette Dufrénoy (1765–1825) was a French poet and a staunch supporter of Napoleon Bonaparte. Printed during the Greek War of Independence, this work is within the frame of philhellenism, praising the role of French in the Greek issue. Written in a form of short articles, it provides an overview of Greece, dealing with various subjects from the Greek history, life and topography.
