Bolotoff A.  : Carte generale de l Asie Mineure redigee par A.  de Bolotoff General de l Etat Major de Russie par des materiaux inedits et des distances fournis par P. de Tchihhatchef. Paris 1855. First military lithographed map of Asia Minor. In linen with few wear, overall in very good condition. It has been published separately in two sheets, here present the first sheet of the western part,  dimensions 70x52cm, depicting the area west of Ankara in a detail never seen before. Piotr Tchihhatchef was a Russian Prince and military officer who explored Anatolia and spent there almost twenty years travelling. The material that he collected was the source for this map of the Russian General Staff . Russian maps are generally rare, Russian maps of the Levant are Extremely rare.
