Fine chromolithographed map 71x51cm of Lesvos island and the very first map in Greek of the island, especially in this scale of 1: 120.000. The map has been ordered by Koumtzis, a very rich Greek businessman native of the island and has been engraved in Leipzig Germany. It follows the remarks and data of another map of Lesvos and Western coastline of Asia Minor, made by two famous German Geographers who visited the island in the 1880s and their map has been published in 1894/5 in Berlin, in 1: 250. 000 scale. Inset maps of Mitilini town peninsula and Moshonisia (Aivali ) in even larger scales of 1: 125.000. Cut at the edge in lower part, some marginal tears one slightly entering printed area at right part, tears at folds, a general wear, not in very good condition but still an intact separately printed during 19th century, map of Lesvos island in Greek.
