Rosaccio (1530-1620), a skilled 16th century Venetian physician and geographer prepared several geographical works during his lifetime as an edition of Ptolemy with newly engraved maps and the famous Viaggio di Venetia a Constantinopoli. This work, prepared during his late age, it is one among the very first modern World Geographies ever printed. It s epitomized all the geographical achievements of the 16th century and includes, in reduced formats, very important maps where their originals have been lost, as the earlier 16th century map of Sarmatia by Bernard Wapowski (double page in p.122/123), a very rare map of Greece and an early map of America with California peninsula well depicted and not as an island.
