Admiral Nelson succeeded to capture several French war vessels in Eastern Mediterranean in late 1798 ,after his triumph at Aboukir  and confiscated relevant French secret correspondence .These letters ,a primary invaluable source for the contemporary events in the Levant, had been initially published in London ,the same year, in an English war propaganda effort, mostly to demonstrate the big size of their naval victory in Aboukir ,according the French official dispatches..Most letters contain also other information about the military situation in Egypt ,the eastern Mediterranean s other naval operations and the Ionian islands ,then still a French possession under English direct threat . A contemporary primary source for Nelson s big victory and Greece and the Levant in the turn of 18th century. Not in Atabey ,Blackmer or any other known collection. Extremely rare.
