A fine collection of three rare early 19th century works ,the two exclusive for Lefkada island .Seems that the gathering has been made by a noble (unidentified coat of arms in the back cover) of Lefkada island descent.Δημήτριος Πετριτσόπουλος (Petrizzopulo) (1763-1833) was a native Greek from Lefkada who studied in Padova and was later in the government of the island in 1802,President of the Parliament of Ionian islands (1806) and commander of Lefkada in 1807-1809.After the conquest of the island by the British ,he escaped to Italy where he composed a comprehensive account for his own native island, published in Florence in 1814.This extensive very early account for Lefkada is among the very few local histories ever written by a Greek before the independence .It is in fact only the second one, for an island, after Marmora work for Corfu published more than a century before .A unique account full with invaluable information for Lefkada. Bound together with two more works: Liliestren s account on Homeric Ithaca (who claimed that the Homeric Ithaca was in fact Lefkada island ) it is among the very first scientific studies ever published for the issue, and Bory de Saint Vincent history and description of the Ionian islands which also deals with Lefkada and provides unique contemporary information for all the Ionian islands and Naxos .Three early 19th century very valuable works, all extremely rare. Not in Atabey ,Blackmer or any other known collection .Petrizzopoulos work never seen the last half century. UNIQUE
