First and only edition, in impressive Imperial Folio oblong 37x53cm,original publishers paper covers, very slightly frayed at edges, complete the fascicule as published, title printed on the cover, list of plates printed at the back cover, plates under tissue guards, some visible marginal water stain and few spots, all far away from the printed areas in the wide margins, all plates printed areas clean and bright, overall in very good condition.

AN IMPRESSIVE PUBLICATION. Filippo Trojani started, in Rome in 1830, a publication of fine views of Greece.1830 was the year of Greek independence and there was a widespread interest for Greece. This is the first fascicule (publication) covering Athens, five plates complete. The project was to be concluded in six separate fascicules, but only four have ever been published over the years up to 1834 and the publication never finished. Only two incomplete copies in public libraries worldwide, not in Atabey,Blackmer or any other known collection. No set, not even separate plate, seems to have ever appeared. ALMOST UNIQUE
