An excellent copy. Van Kampen, a Dutch historian and traveler visited Greece and the Levant. His detailed travel account of all regions of Greece and most of the Balkans is coupled with other primary Dutch sources. It is an exhaustive presentation of Greece, just after independence, and of the rest of the Ottoman Balkans. It is one of the rarest account for Greece and the Balkans of 19th century, plenty of invaluable information with few, but unique and original, views and has been published only once. Not in Atabey,Blackmer or any other known collection. Extremely rare and a fine copy in mint condition.
