Piotr Thihatcheff (1815-1890),a Russian officer and explorer who travelled widely in Anatolia, since 1845.His work, l Asie Mineure Description de cette Contree, published over 15 years in five parts, forms a kind of encyclopedia for Anatolia. This account is his personal travel calendar in first edition. He describes in meticulous detail all his movements, day by day, around Asia Minor from 1847 to 1863 during all his travels. Travel calendars to be published as such are rare, Tchihatcheff own calendar is a very precious primary source for all the provided itineraries, the times needed, the stations etc. Coupled with a fine detailed map of the area by Kiepert.
