BOTERO G., “Graeciae Universae secundum Hodiernum situ neoterica descri”, 1599. Rare miniature map of Greece published in Boteros “Delle Relationi Universali”, ed. By the Compagnia Bresciana in 1599. Botero (1540-1617), was a Piedmontese priest, geographer and Secretary to the Duke of Savoy. His text on geography was regarded as the best for over a century blended with historical and political information. The current map (like all the maps of the edition) were engraved for the 1598 pirate edition of the Ortelius Epitome, also published by the Compagnia Bresciana.
