Hand-colored double-page engraved map of the Mediterranean Sea, with three insets of Europe, Thessaly (home of the Argonauts), and Hellespont and Propontis (the waterway connecting the Aegean and Black Sea), describing the mythical voyage of Jason and the Argonauts by Pieter van den Keere. Beautifully title cartouche, sailing ships and compass rose. As noted at lower left Petrus Kaerius engraved the current plate at the age of 74. Without spots, with full margins. Marginal tearing and creasing of upper marginal part. Proffesional paper reinforcement along middle-fold and upper marginal edge. Zacharakis 1721.
