The COMPLETE SET of seven (7) volumes plus the ATLAS entitled: “Recueil de Cartes géographiques, plans vues et medailles de LAncienne Grèce, relatifs au Voyage du Jeune Anacharsis en Grèce, précédé dune analyse critiques des cartes”, in 4to, pp.110 and 39 engraved plates. The Atlas starts with plate number 3, as the plate n.2 (folding map of Greece) is included in the 1st volume of the current set, while the 1st plate, called for in the list of contents, was finally included only in the 5th edition of 1817. Contemporary uniform binding: full leather with blind-stamped decorations in gilt on spines. Worn along external edges and joints, interior of text volumes with just occasional spotting, more evident spotting on first text7 sheets of Atlas and few of the plates (especially the last 3). The current edition is one of the most notable as all the included maps were redesigned by the eminent French cartographer and engraver, Ambroise Tardieu. Rarely found complete, including also the Atlas.
