Copper plate map (48x33cm) with beautiful modern hand-colouring. An early example of Sacred Cartography, produced by the famous Dutch map publisher, Nicolas Visscher. The map was used as the base of several maps issued until the early 18th century. The map combines actual and Biblical cartography indicating Biblical locations such as the Babel or the Eden Garden. Two cartouche scenes on top right & left depict scenes with Adam and Eve in the Eden garden.
