Greece under the German occupation 1941 / Γερμανική Κατοχή Ελλάδας, 1941. Photographic album of 219 in total photographs of various sizes, (most ~9x6cm), probably compiled by a wife of a German senior officer that served in Greece in just after the German invation and until the end of 1941.

The photographic travelogue starts with the travel by train through the Balkans (Romania, Bulgaria, Serbia, Albania), first reaching Thessaloniki in 7/6/1941 with 36 photographs covering this theme. Most of the photographs are depicting Athens area (127 photographs) with various street views, photographs of Athenian antiquities, German Kommandantur facilities, views of Piraeus & Phaleron.

All photographs are accompanied by handwritten extensive descriptions in German. Most of the photographs are private with a small percentage being of commercial photo sources. All photographs attached on thick cartons, with only some of the cartons detached from album. Also included a booklet of Constanta 11x6.5cm with 10 photographs of Costanta folded inside.

Leather binding with title blind-stamped on front cover “Aus meiner Dienstzeit” and metallic emblem of the 3rd Reich. Rubbing mainly of the top right of the front board, light edge-wear of the cartons, almost all of the photographs in very fine condition.
