COMPLETE SET OF 9 Volumes PLUS the ATLAS. The text volumes: 16mo, pp. 384, 379, 300, 373, 377, 290, 351, 359 & 369. The ATLAS in 4to, pp. [2], 20 and 31 folding maps and plans.

Barthélemy studied the works of Greek and Roman authors and meticulously annotated on his maps the information he extracted. He relied too on the well-documented investigations that J. Foucherot and M.G.F.A. Choiseul-Gouffier had made on the spot, thus complementing his fictional work with accurate representations of the most important locations and battlefields.

Contemporary full leather with spines decorated in gilt. External wear along spines, kjoints and edges. All volumes still firm. Chipped parts of Vol.I spine. Tear covered with self-adhessive tape on atlas’ folding map of Greece.
