Arundell, English antiquary and clergyman, was among the first who travelled extensively in the unknown at that time interior of Asia Minor. In 1826 he made a 7 month long tour to the areas that were forming the 7 Churches of Asia Minor and he is recorded as the First man in recent times that visited all the seven churches. He extensively researched the countryside, providing very valuable reports of the antiquities and significant results on the place-name changes through time and topography of the area. Rare edition.
