“Δανιηλ κατα τους Εβδομηκοντα εκ των τετραπλων Ωριγενους / Daniel secundum Septuaginta ex tetraplis Origenis”, Rome, Imprimerie de la Propagation de la Foi, 1772. First edition of this important Greek version of the Septuagint. Folio, half title, title printed in red and black. Parallel Greek and Latin text, including also fragments in Aramaic. Interestingly, the book includes a description of the library of Alexandria and several related descriptions, accompanied by a large folding plate of Alexandria 53 x 42 cm. Contemporary full calf, spine with raised bands and decorations in gilt, red edges. External heavy wear of the front board with partial loss of leather. Water-stain on the upper part of title-page covering contemporary inscr. in pen, just occasional spotting inside. Brunet II 486.
