Woodcut Kalliergi’s 2-headed eagle device on title and three epigrams (of Ioannis Laskaris, Angelos Politianos and Skipion Karteromahos / Ιωάννης Λάσκαρης, Άγγελος Πολιτιανός & Σκιπίωνας Καρτερόμαχος) as well as at colophon. Ff.1 printed in red and black. Text entirely in Greek. The Chatsworth copy with bookplate and Duke of Devonshire Coat of arms tooled in gilt on both covers. Late 18th century binding by Charles Hering (“Bound by C. Hering” label on free end-paper), armorial full calf: Covers blind and gold tooled, blind floral & geometrical frame filled with decorative roll. In the center Devonshire Coat of arms in gilt framed in gilt, all edges gilt and gilt turn-in blind anthemia motifs. Spine with raised bands, divided in six panels 5 with blind floral and anthemia decorations and one with the title in gilt on deep red dyed Morocco. Rubbed, bumped corners and wear along edges. Restored the external and internal joints. Light lower ext. corner water-stains in ~¼ of the sheets, soiling and toning of the title page, just occasional and light spotting, restoration of tears and a hole in the last page.
