HANDWRITTEN DEDICATION OF FIRMIN DIDOT to Ernestine Panckoucke “A Madame E. Panckoucke, auteur et artiste, hommage de Firmin Didot”, on blanc sheet opposite the half-title.

Very fine contemporary brown Morocco: covers with gilt ruled a panel design and dentelle borders with ancient-greek motifs, two fillets on the edges and a central fillet centerpiece all in gilt. Also blind-stamped dentelle ornamental inner border. All edges and turn-ins finely tooled in gilt. Light external wear along edges and spine’s foot & tail. Internal front joint cracked, spotting throughout.
