Travels of the French writer and poet Gérard de Nerval to the Levant through Greece. On 22 December 1842, Nerval set off for the East, traveling through Greece to Alexandria, Cairo, Beirut, Constantinople. He began to publish articles about his trip in 1844, with the current 1851 edition representing the first complete edition of his travelogue.
