GERMANY: WWI Gold Donation commemorative iron medal of the Imperial Bank (1916). These were given to people who donated their gold items for the war effort of World War I in Germany. A rightward facing kneeling woman offering a gold necklace on obverse. Inscription "Gold gab ich zur Wehr, Eisen nahm ich zur Ehr" with oak leaves below on reverse. Diameter: 40mm. Weight: 18,4gr. Manufactured by Hosaeus. Very Fine plus.
